Several years have past since the catastrophically monstrous earthquake struck and sank nearly 70% of Japan's area mass.
Many civilians still struggled and finances were far from where they needed to be to restore the country.
The recover project for Japan needed a means of gain and fast. Upon it's opening, Deadman Wonderland was seen as the
shining hope for the Tokyo Recovery Project. The privately owned prison and amusement park was created to attract tourists
with the prison's special attractions. With more tourists came more funding. However, there is more to this little prison
than just clowns making balloon animals and ferris wheel. Deadman Wonderland is known for their live action entertainment
and activities performed by those imprisoned; entertainment that seems unbeknownst to the general population. The prisons
attractions consist of cruel survival games that can result in an inmate losing a limb, an organ, or even their own life. Many
wealthy anonymous donors seek to fund the prisons activities and utilize the "Carnival Corpse" event as their biggest pay in.
Those that truly peak the interests of donors are the Deadmen. Deadmen are those who have been infected with the Nameless
parasite that has given them the ability to do extraordinary things with their own blood. The infection is most likely linked
to strange red diamond dust that was recovered from the earthquake many years ago. However, very little research has been done.
Deadmen are placed in a special and highly secured block ward on their own and away from normal prisoners. Those who are Deadmen
are able to take part in Carnival Corpse, however victory is never certain. To add insult to injury, prisoners who have been put
on death row are required to wear the special "Deadman Wonderland Collars". These collars not only act as a tracking system and
life monitor, the collars also release a deadly poison into the wearers body which will cause a slow and painful death within
three days. However, prisoners are able to utilize Cast Points in order to purchase temporary antidotes in the form of candy or
other items such as food, flowers, furniture as so on. How do you earn Cast points you ask? There seems to be no relief in these
metal walls. Life can be beyond difficult behind bars. Do you have what it takes to survive?

05/14/18 Hey everyone! Please do be sure to finish up your school years strong. Remember, studies are very important to us. So do your best! 04/29/18 Crazy Carnival has official opened it's doors! Let's get crazy! 04/26/18 Things are coming along well! We will be opening our doors Sunday. During the time we will still be making some changes here and there based on everyones feedback.

PLEASE BE SURE TO READ ALL SECTIONS OF THIS THREAD before asking any questions what so ever or bringing up any concerns. We understand what many people who join the site just want to get a feel of what the situation is but when there are four threads about the same topic that can easily be answered within this thread, it can be a bit stressful. We are going to try our best to put this here gathering of policies together to make everyone's much easier but you really gotta work with me here buddy. Remember, we wanna help you have the best roleplaying experience that you can get and to do that, you have to learn the rules. We promise it won't be that hard.

We are a friendly community who want to help one another and treat each other how we want to be treated. Rudeness or bullying will not be tolerated on site, in chat, or discord. You are expected to stop the cruelty when asked. No questions asked.

DON'T BE AFRAID TO TALK TO A MOD if you are having any site issues, will be experiencing a long absence from the site, have any suggestions. As mods, we are here to help make your experience here more comfortable and entertaining. We won't bite. Honest. Just let us know what's on your mind and we can work with you.

PLEASE FOLLOW THE POLICY GUIDELINES which means no god-modding or metagaming what so ever. If we suspect such an incident is taking place, it will be investigated and ceased without question. There will be absolutely no chat speak; save that for ooc please. We have a 150 word minimum for roleplaying posts and absolutely 0 tolerance for post spamming. This site utilizes BBCode which allows users to get as creative as they like. However, if your code alters the sites layout or is not properly credited to it's original owner if not created by yourself, it will be removed. Deadman Wonderland is a very sadistic and graphic anime, however, we will keep the acts as PG-13 as we can. On that no, absolutely no sexual content or acts will be tolerated. Take that elsewhere my dude. Swears and curses are allowed MILDLY. Which means don't go blurting out cruel words ooc to one another like a mad man. Have some constraint. This is an alternative universe roleplay and no canon characters will be playable; few however will be mentioned as npcs along the way. If you are unsure of if your character is fitting the requirements, feel free to ask a mod and we will give you thoughts or just submit your character to be approved. Plagiarism is a big no no. Liquid time, or being in more than one thread at a time, is fine here.
05.
WE DO NOT HAVE AN APPLICATION COMPLETION POLICY BUT YOU DO HAVE A WEEK TO KEEP A RESERVE ON A FACE CLAIM You can take as long as you need to to finish your character application, however, keeping a reserve on a face claim will only last a week so we do advise you finish as soon as you can. Once the application is submitted but not reviewed, you are in the clear. If you are not planning to reserve your face claim, you do not have to worry about this. However, there is the risk that someone may have that face reserved in the time being. Please just be aware of claims when creating your character.
06.
ACTIVITY IS A GO GO In order to keep track of those who are active on the site, random activity checks will be held and if you fail to take part in them it can result in the deletion of your character. If you know that you will not be able to take part in the activity check of are having rl difficulties (ex. death in the family, jury duty, unexpected tragedy), please do speak to a mod so we can keep note.
ONE CHARACTER PER REGISTERED ACCOUNT AND MAKE 10 POSTS BEFORE MAKING A NEW CHARACTER
It can be a bit difficult otherwise. Having multiple characters on one account just makes things messy for mods so, this is the easiest way to do it.

REGISTER WITH "firstname lastname"
Again, just makes things a lot easier to organize.Make sure that they are lowercase. You are able to change the display title in your profile section for future notice.
03.
ONLY ONE WIP APPLICATION AT A TIME
We don't want someone making millions of WIP applications and not finishing a single one of them. It also hogs potential face claims for others to use. You do not have a required time limit to finish your application, however, if you require more time for your face claim to be reserved, contact a mod with your reason and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

READ THE COMPONENTS OF THE APPLICATION CAREFULLY
This is simply to help you know which part of the application goes where. The order of the application helps mods when reviewing and jumbling them up and jumbling the order up can make things difficult.
05.
DON'T MAKE THE HISTORY TOO LENGTHY
We get it, you want to go very in depth about your character. But please be aware that the mods have to pick apart each and every aspect of your history. We are allowing you the freedom to fill this section in however you like but keep the word count to about 2000-2500 words please.
06.
ONLY ANIMANGA FACE CLAIMS AND USAGE
Please don't try and pass a picture of Chris Evans as your face claim. I am 100% serious.

ONCE YOUR CHARACTER IS ACCEPTED, DONT FORGET YOUR MINI-PROFILE
Mini-profiles can be very useful in helping you keep track of your application and other threads useful for your character. We highly advise you fill that out and properly link what you need to to help others get a grasp of your character as well.

BIRD RESERVE
Aside from a face claim reserve, you will also be able to reserve a certain bird for your characters identification within the prison. In relation to the show, personal information was not given out about the prisoners taking part in the prisons games. Instead, they were labeled as "birds". Just as we have a face claim list, there will also be a bird reserve list so fill free to be whatever flying beast your heart desires. Canon birds within the series do not exist in this universe so you are free to use them if you wish.

BRANCH OF SIN
Here's the part I'm sure many of you skipped down to review. The Branch of Sin of a character defines the ability they are able to utilize with their blood. It is the aspect that defines a Deadman. Branch of Sins can be named whatever you desire, however, please be away they only give you user ONE specific ability. The moves and ways you utilize that ability are open. Also, keep in mind that Branches of Sin require the owner users blood to be utilized. Which means if you plan on doing something very elaborate, you have to account for weaknesses of blood loss. Your Branches of Sin will be reviewed with your application and if a mod feels that it needs to be tweaked, we can offer suggestions to more you in the right direction. We can also provide feedback on why a certain ability may not be the best to have. Eventually, there will be a banned Branch of Sin section and canon branches will not be allowed. 10.
MOVES
Every prisoner is allowed one combat specific move (Deadmen are allowed two; one combat and one Branch of Sin related). These moves start out weak but can be trained with the purchase of practice time in the gym or threw items in the shop. The more training you take part in, the higher level your moves will be. Move levels help determine who will win in combat situations If there is a stalemate, we will leave it up to chance (dice roll).

CARNIVAL CORPSE EVENTS PLEASE READ
Ok this is another section I'm sure many of you skipped to. Carnival Corpse events will take place randomly throughout the months. During these events we will have two separate threads (one for regular prisoners and one's for Deadmen). The components of these events will be specified when released and everyone does not have to join. However, if you do plan to join, please be aware that these are winner take all events. Which means they can possibly be a chance that your character DIES or is killed off by another character. These events are completely up to chance! Which means we do not have control over who wins. However, if you do happen to win, you will be greatly rewarded. If your character has been killed, they will not be able to return. However, you are more than free to create a new character. Again, taking part in the event is OPTIONAL. You do not have to. However, if you have a mad gambling addiction and are just feeling lucky, be our guest. All funds and items will be transferred to the new character once created.
12.
ROLES WHEN CREATING A CHARACTER
There are a number of roles that can be created within the prison. Prisoners are those without a branch of sin. So literally just regular guys. You may have the option of being on or off death row but be aware that those on death row will need to purchase candy to live. Prisoners live in wards A-D. Prisoners (Deadmen) are prisoners within the prison possess branches of sin. You may have the option of being on or off death row but keep in mind of the purchase of antidote. Deadman Wonderland Guards are attendants to the prison. Depending on your role, your responsibilities may differ. The rub role of characters consist of Scar Chain members (an underground organization seeking to reveal the truth of the prison to the outside world, Undertakers (special forces within the Deadman Guards who have specialized equipment to deal with Deadmen prisoners., and Occupations within the guards (doctor, chief, shop owner etc)
As stated previously, there will be random activity checks every now and again to give the staff an idea of who is being active on the site. There will be announcements both on site and in discord of the check and you will have a two-week period to respond to the thread.
02.
WHEN TO NOTIFY A MOD
If you know you will not be present for an activity check because of a real life reason, please do contact a mod and let them know so we can keep note. You will be excused for that check. However, if you fail to respond to the activity check without notifying a mod, it will be noted.
03.
MISSING MORE THAN ONE ACTIVITY CHECK
If, god forbid, your are in a state where you are unable to contact us at all (health issues etc) and your characters have been marked inactive, when you are able contact a mod as soon as possible. We will give you one character to begin with and as you build up activity, you will be given the rest. We know life can bring unexpected things and, as stated, we are willing to work with you however we can.
04.
HIGHER POSITIONS ARE REQUIRED MORE ACTIVITY ON SITE
If you have a character who is in a high position (etc. Chief Guard, Division leaders, Scar Chain officers etc), you are expected to lead by example and be really active on the site to keep that position. You can't just make someone really important and just casually more about. If you do intend to keep that position, you are required to make 10 roleplay posts a week. It's super simple we promise. We are very lenient about this rule so if you only make 9 or 8, we will excuse it. However, you are seen as a leading position so you have to earn your keep.
There will be various types of events on the sites; most of which will be combat related. However, we will also have smaller events or boosts throughout. In all, we want to make sure there is something for everyone so if you'd prefer no fighting or possibly losing a character, we will have something for you. Promise.
02.
CARNIVAL CORPSE
Carnival Corpse will most likely be the most anticipated events for the sites. Because of the dangerous the event could cause, it will only happen very little each month. Aside from that, we will be having registrations for these events. There will be a registration for Regular Prisoners and Deadmen Prisoners. We will only allow 8-10 people each for Carnival Corpse at a time. Please be aware that you DO NOT HAVE TO JOIN Carnival Corpse. We understand, some people don't want to see their characters die.Remember you will always have the choice no matter what.
03.
COMBAT
Combat is completely dependent on move levels and stats. However, if there instances where characters may be equally match. In chances like this, we leave the victor up to chance. A dice roll will be made within the discord channel using a bot created specifically for dice rolling. We highly encourage everyone to join the discord, though if you are not in the discord and still need a dice roll, a mod will do it for you.
04.
CURRENCY
On the site, you are able to earn Cast Points that may be used to buy items, training, and so on within the shop. Cast Points can be earned from events, rewards, or even just posting in certain threads. We also have a banking system if you wish to stow your money away for saving.
05.
DEATHS ON SITE
So death on the site will be very regularly. The ways that you can die is threw loss of carnival corpse, lose of event rolls, failure to consume a candy within three days, or inactivity. Again, most of these are avoidable (etc you dont have to do events or be on death row) however inactivity punishment is not unavoidable if you do not have a reason. Keep that in mind.
06.
ODD JOBS AND FREEBIES
We know prison life can be stressful and not everyone wants to risk their characters lives to obtain the candy they need. So, there will be odd jobs and freebies in the form of quests. These quests will be easy tasks that can help your character earn items or money. Once the task is completed on site, you will notify your completion with a link to the thread or task and your reward will be with you shortly.
It's a choice that you will be able to make when creating your character. Deathrow allows you to really get down and dark with your backstory of why you arrived. If you really want to make your character the hardcorest of the hardcore, this is the way to go. However, having deathrow doesn't come without consequences.
02.
CANDY ANTIDOTES
Those on Deathrow all wear the poison collars are all times. This means that candy antidotes will be a MUST BUY and MUST HAVE. You will be required to consume one candy every three days. Consumption is recorded by the threads that will be marked Deathrow Antidotes. There will be a new one every three days so keep and eye out for those.
03.
FAILURE TO CONSUME
In the show, failure to consume the antidote would result in death. However, we are no where near that cruel. So, if you fail to post in the deathrow thread and you are on death row, you will be penalized. Failure to post within the three days will result in 30 cast points being taken away as composition. For those who have notified the staff of an absence, you will not be penalized. This only applies if you have contacted in advance.
