Several years have past since the catastrophically monstrous earthquake struck and sank nearly 70% of Japan's area mass.
Many civilians still struggled and finances were far from where they needed to be to restore the country.
The recover project for Japan needed a means of gain and fast. Upon it's opening, Deadman Wonderland was seen as the
shining hope for the Tokyo Recovery Project. The privately owned prison and amusement park was created to attract tourists
with the prison's special attractions. With more tourists came more funding. However, there is more to this little prison
than just clowns making balloon animals and ferris wheel. Deadman Wonderland is known for their live action entertainment
and activities performed by those imprisoned; entertainment that seems unbeknownst to the general population. The prisons
attractions consist of cruel survival games that can result in an inmate losing a limb, an organ, or even their own life. Many
wealthy anonymous donors seek to fund the prisons activities and utilize the "Carnival Corpse" event as their biggest pay in.
Those that truly peak the interests of donors are the Deadmen. Deadmen are those who have been infected with the Nameless
parasite that has given them the ability to do extraordinary things with their own blood. The infection is most likely linked
to strange red diamond dust that was recovered from the earthquake many years ago. However, very little research has been done.
Deadmen are placed in a special and highly secured block ward on their own and away from normal prisoners. Those who are Deadmen
are able to take part in Carnival Corpse, however victory is never certain. To add insult to injury, prisoners who have been put
on death row are required to wear the special "Deadman Wonderland Collars". These collars not only act as a tracking system and
life monitor, the collars also release a deadly poison into the wearers body which will cause a slow and painful death within
three days. However, prisoners are able to utilize Cast Points in order to purchase temporary antidotes in the form of candy or
other items such as food, flowers, furniture as so on. How do you earn Cast points you ask? There seems to be no relief in these
metal walls. Life can be beyond difficult behind bars. Do you have what it takes to survive?

Claus preferred to arrive early before the entertainment area began to pack with loud or obnoxious individuals. The earlier, the better. He claimed his spot on a small sofa near the back of the room, hunching over and take a sip out of a paper cup. It was old, cold coffee, about all that he could ever get his hands on. Not of the picky type, Claus took what he could get at this point. The prison was unforgiving. Being too picky could cost you life and limb...literally.
Very few people were gathered in the entertainment room. They scattered themselves about and tended to their own business, either relaxing on a sofa or sitting at the table with a pack of cards. While typically Claus would bet away candies, he was running low at the moment. He would need to gather more before he could comfortably bet or use them for favors.
He could hear voices approaching from the hallway. Others were returning from breakfast in the cafeteria. A majority of the time people preferred to simply go back to their cells, but the cooped up life wasn't for Claus. The entertainment hall provided a good change of scenery. There weren't many faces Claus could see on a daily basis, being a Deadman and all. The few faces that prowled about were in situations similar to his. He was on deathrow, and being a Bird only limited his interaction with "normal" people. A lot of the deathrow inmates weren't exactly peachy, though neither was he.
A sigh escaped his mouth as he leaned back on the half broken sofa. It needed to be replaced, but you couldn't expect them to do anything as such. The prison didn't particularly care about how comfortable its inmates were. They actually seemed to enjoy the suffrage. The voices came louder, and a handful of people squeezed through the door. There was never enough peace and quiet.

no one should be cast away. but all should be judged the same.
It was always a kind and uplifting surprise to receive letters from her sisters. She always laid awake at night wondering how they were doing. If things were going well on their end. Most importantly, she wanted to know that they were safe. She traversed through the prison halls making her way to the entertainment area to at least occupy her mind with something for the time being. Her eyes looking about to other inmates.Half of them were lying cheating bastards. However, it was rare that she encountered someone with intelligence in some form.
She began to make her way over and sit down in an open seat. Her eyes locked on the letter in her hands. Oh how she missed her sisters dearly. However, she needed to be strong for them and atone for her sins. This was the only way. She folded the paper up and placed it in her cleavage before folding her arms and looking around looking to the faces in the crowd. He eyes stopping on the inmate she believed to be Claus. She wasn't familiar with him but from what she can recall, he was a veteran around her. One of the first few inmates to arrive. Perhaps striking a conversation with him couldn't hurt.
Once she stood to her feet and began to make her way over, she stopped looking to the broken sofa he sat on. It was common for prisoners to have things such as this. She began to point to it.
